J-TEP Teacher Exchange Program

Jessica Shrestha and Ridhi Regmi

9th August,2023

Creative Academy participated in a recent ‘JBCN Teacher Exchange and Partnership Program(J-TEP): Cultivating Global Connections’ held in Mumbai dated from July 8 to 16 that aimed to bring international perspectives into classrooms by collecting opinions of teachers from over 5 countries.

J-TEP is an emulsion of skill enhancement through seminars, training sessions, panel discussions, curriculum refinement, and pedagogy, as well as cultural fusion. Over ten days, educators taught together and collaborated to bring best practices for classroom instruction. They exchanged ideas about gamification in the classroom to keep up with new teaching and learning methods. Educators participated in collective research efforts as well, to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as stated by JBCN.

Kaushal Oli, one of the delegates from Creative Academy at the program, shared his experience, stating, “The family of JBCN Borivali showed us warmth and made us feel at home immediately. I met friendly professional team members who shared best practices, challenges, and ideas about teaching and learning. I learned a lot from them, and today I’ve shared a few of my own experiences and thoughts. We had a fruitful and engaging exchange session that enriched my knowledge and skills. I also had an opportunity to visit a school and witness the amazing work of the students and teachers. I was struck by the creativity, innovation, and collaboration I saw in every classroom and corner. I felt like I was in a magical place where learning was fun and meaningful. I also met fellow delegates from different countries who participated in the exchange program. They were so kind and gentle and; we had a heart-to-heart exchange in no time. We had a common passion for education, and we learned from each other’s experiences and cultures. We have developed a strong friendship and mutual support that transcends the boundaries of geography and language.”
