Dashain Delight: Creative Academy's Club extravaganza Takes Center Stage"

The Event Management Committee at Creative Academy orchestrated a festive spectacle on the 22nd of Kartik, celebrating Dashain with a dynamic club fair that stole the spotlight. With a resounding success, all student clubs showcased their prowess through an array of captivating activities across 21 stalls, both indoors and outdoors.

As the sun rose, students eagerly set up their club stalls upon arriving at school. The grand affair officially commenced at 11 a.m., marked by the ceremonial ribbon-cutting by the school principal, Bodhnath Poudel. Distinguished guests, including two foreigners, graced the fair with their presence.

The Media Club set the stage with vibrant newsletters, an engaging balloon-popping game, and insightful interviews with attendees. A meticulously crafted photobooth, adorned with creative props, added a touch of glamour. 

Meanwhile, the Movie Club transported visitors with a captivating documentary, poetry recitations, and storytelling. A dart game with 'katana' prizes added an extra layer of excitement.

The Literature Club spun tales through storytelling and hosted a literature-themed quiz, offering unique erasers as coveted prizes. Additionally, students from the club sold charming bookmarks priced at 5–10 rupees.

Python enthusiasts were in for a treat as the Python Club presented a diverse array of games, including mazes, Valorant, and other two-player wonders, all crafted by adept club members using the Python programming language.

Under the celestial canvas, the Astronomy Club combined education and fun with a dart game, telescope views of the sun, and explanations of celestial wonders like Planshiper and Sundril. Anime posters and bookmarks added a cosmic touch to their stall.

 Drama Club comrades prepared an outdoor stall, featuring a mini basketball game, lucky draws, and the sale of drama-related posters. The students showcased their dramatic dramas in the school hall.

Chess Club enthusiasts engaged in a multitude of activities, from purchasing chess boards to participating in a photo exhibition of members in action. A chess game challenged participants to guess the real names of chess pieces for a sweet reward of chocolate.

Debate Club fostered intellectual discussions with their "Change My Mind" game, offering bookmarks and chocolates for compelling debates.

The Public Speaking Club crafted a unique fishing game, featuring paper fish with hidden gifts. A confession box provided a cathartic outlet for students, promoting mental health awareness with chocolate rewards. The students of the club are very eager to see what is written in the confessions.

In the realm of technology, the Robotics Club showcased a meticulously crafted robotic car, a captivating maze game, and cutting-edge transmitter technology, all programmed using Java and C++.

Eco-conscious offerings from the Eco Club included bookmarks, bread, jam, selling plants and even showcasing plants for commitment to sustainability.

The Art Club dazzled visitors with an art exhibition featuring captivating artworks and offered face painting services.

The Gurukul Club spotlighted student projects in an innovation program, explaining their workings to interested attendees.

Scrabble Club engaged participants with games of tic-tac-toe and word puzzles, surprising winners with unexpected prizes.

The Canopy Club catered to taste buds with a delightful food stall featuring panipuri, popcorn, and mango juice. Simultaneously, the Interactive Club provided health services, sold water bottles, and encouraged donations through a strategically placed donation box.

A student attending the fair, Jashmin Shrestha expressed her opinion about the mela. She said “ it was all nice. There was no kite flying so I was sad. Overall it was good but not as good as they organized last year. To be honest the stalls were wonderful and beautiful.”

While most clubs celebrated financial success, a few faced challenges, making this Dashain-inspired club fair a memorable and diverse experience for all involved.

District Maths Olympiad

On Poush 9, the District Maths Olympiad (DMO) was held, and more than thirty kids demonstrated enthusiasm and active engagement.  

When the exam was scheduled to take place, the students arrived at eight in the morning. After receiving an explanation of the examination's guidelines, they were given the question paper, a response sheet, and an exercise sheet. The exam was 100 min and there were 50 questions to attempt. 

The result of Bagmati province was published on January 26,2024. 10 students from Creative Academy were successful in securing their spots in the Provincial Maths Olympiad (PMO).

It surprised me that I was able to get into the PMO on my first try. Ninth-grade participant Nhuja Maharjan stated, "I am appreciative of this opportunity and I will give it everything I have in the PMO as well.”

(MMA) Model Municipal assembly

To enlighten students about the workings of municipal assembly a program titled “Model Municipal Assembly (MMA) ” was held from the 10th of Mangsir to the 12th.

Before conducting MMA there was an orientation class held on Mangsir 4, Monday to impart knowledge on the function of municipal assemblies and about the levels of government.

The trainers Ms. Maruska Joshi, Er. Shriram Pokharel and Priyanka Pokharel guided the students with all the information they needed to do their best in  MMA. The trainers taught the MMA members for three days. There were five different sessions, and the trainers explained about each session, respectively.

On the day of the program, the members arrived early at the school in formal cultural dresses representing each ethnicity, and the members told the problems of all the wards. The program ended at 5 p.m. Sanifa Maharjan, one of the MMA members, said, "It was one of the good experiences.".

Maruska Joshi, a trainer, said, " I had fun teaching the young students, the program was a very good lesson for them . Thus, this program was fruitful for the aspirant learners."

“A fun break- theater treasures"

On Ashoj 14^th (1^st October), the Media club, a group of students of Creative Academy, visited Kunja Theatre, to watch the drama "Ma Pani Manxe Hun".

"Such visit was organized as a reward for the Media Club for their hard works", said Kusum Shrestha, mentor of the club.

26 Students with 3 teachers went to theatre where they watched the drama.

Saroj Aryal, director of the drama, welcomed the students. "Kunja Theater deeply appreciates your presence and extends a warm welcome to all", Aryal said,"regarding the drama, it was officially penned by an Indian writer, but I take the director's helm for today's presentation."

As the curtains rose and the actors graced the stage, a palpable energy swept through the audience, leaving a memorable experience on each spectator. A vulture, with majestic poise, spread its wings, accompanied by a background music. The cast, including characters like Vulture, Empire Calling, his daughter, Prince, and other members of the royal family, casted their roles which delved into the sorrows of workers, themes of love, and the cruelty of the king towards the prince. 

The drama unfolded a narrative where the king plays the role of antagonist who evolves through the plot, learning profound lessons from his actions. The prince, cast as the protagonist, navigated the tale with resilience and grace.

Eva Swar, one of the viewers, shared her immersive experience, stating, "emotions and expressions together created a performance that elicited laughter and tears from the captivated audience. I was totally lost in the drama."

After an exciting one and a half hours, the lights dimmed, and Director Saroj Aryal returned to the stage. "Here we reach the culmination of the drama. We've been immersed in this narrative for more than an hour and a half. I trust you all enjoyed today's performance. As you leave the theater, I make a humble request to all of you to introduce Mala arts academy and Kunja theater to more people, so we may continue to evolve in the days to come," he requested before gracefully exiting the stage. 

Upon exiting the theater, Prapti Sharma reflected, "forgiveness and love is the most powerful weapon one could ever have if he is a real king. All of us were so focused on the drama that 1 hour and 30 mins felt like 15 minutes only. I can't believe it's already over!"

 In extending a heartfelt applause to both the performers on stage and the storytellers behind the scenes,  Media Club of Creative Academy stands proudly as a beacon of a vibrant community that thrives on the profound appreciation of the arts.

 

A valuable session to build up physical and mental health

A yoga session was organized for 9th graders of Creative Academy, from the 24th of Ashar to the 1st of Bhadra. It was organized by the administration of the academy which was instructed by Yoga teacher Umashankar Joshi. 

45 students participated in the yoga session. It was both a physical and an online session. 

According to a student of grade 9, Sadhana Baral “During the yoga session, many activities were held. Activities like chanting mantras, and listening to or watching the video of Sadh guru, Yog Nidra were done. We solved some questions related to our anger issues. The yoga session was interesting and fun.”

“It was interesting and fun during the yoga session. It helps to improve our health and it was a positive session”, says Rihanna Maharjan, a student in grade 9.

According to a participant in the program Shristi Tamang, “The yoga session was calm and peaceful, when I first came to school from home my mind was full of nonsense things but when the yoga session was over my mind was very peaceful.”

“The yoga session has brought a lot of change in my behavior and my anger issues have also improved”, says Aayusha Magar.

Tihar Celebration

Deusi Bhailo Program was organized by Creative Academy on 23rd Kartik. It was organized to connect with the culture of our society and do something related to the Tihar Festival.

The program was held in two parts. One Inside the school and one outside of the school. The students of Grades 6,7and 8 performed at Nagaun Dobato from 1 o'clock to 2 o'clock. The program was organized by Slesha Shiwakoti along with Republica Gautam.

Tihar was celebrated inside of Creative Academy with the performance of Junior and Seniors. The students of Art Club Made Rangoli along with the teachers.

Creative Model State's first parliamentary meeting

Creative Model State, a parliamentary meeting held by the House of Representatives consisting of 30 Class Representatives, 14 club presidents, 8 House captains, and 4 Directly Elected Representatives was held on 18 August 2023 for the administration to acknowledge the problem faced by the students.

    

According to Ansu Maharjan, the Prime Minister of Creative, the parliamentary was conducted since there were many problems in various classes that weren't being acknowledged by the school administration so the House of Representatives held a meeting to learn more about the problems that students were facing. 

The parliamentary meeting helped to manage the problems that were being faced by the students such as bullying, lack of benches and fans, and many more, Administrators could take action against it.

The members of the House of Representatives expressed their opinions and problems. “The meeting was also very knowledgeable”, said the CRS including Aviyan Dhungana, Avnish Rajbhandari, Yukesh Tamang, and The DERS including Ansu Maharjan and Sangam Rai. The DERS including Ansu Maharjan, Sangam Rai, Deep Shrestha, and Sakshyam Kafle are thinking that the solution could be to try focusing on the problems and having a discussion regarding how to fix them. Also, the Creative's administration is currently working on it. The parliamentary session is going to be held next month stated By Ansu Maharjan and Ashok Sharma.

According to the CR of grade 9"RR" Aviyan Dhungana, the program was wonderful and enjoyable, and the school provided a chance to show their talent and skill.“It was similar to the national parliament and could be better” said Aviyan.
